We all know that writing doesn’t always produce a steady stream of income. Some months you’ll fill your wallet and other months you’ll be sitting at your church’s food pantry. At least that’s what I’ve been told to expect.
To make sure I’m able to put food on the table, I drive for Amazon Flex in my spare time. It’s fun. I meet lots of interesting people and I feel a bit like Dora the Explorer, looking for the next delivery address. It’s like a weird sort of Easter Egg hunt but there’s no candy when you find the delivery address.
I’m in a few groups for Flex drivers on Facebook, one of which I serve as an admin. Admittedly, I don’t do much in regards to admin sorts of tasks but I’m there if the need arises. I prefer to remain in the background, like I always have.
Now, this Flex gig has surprisingly provided me with a new writing venture! I’m a contributor for the rideshare blog, Ridester.com. My first article was published today! Huzzah!
