25 days until Chicken Soup for the Soul: Dreams and the Unexplainable is released! I’m both excited and nervous. This is my most acclaimed writing accomplishment so far to date. I say that because I’m not done yet. I have a lot left in me. The part I’m most incredulous about is I only officially started this road in January.
My free copies of the book should arrive any day now. I think this is more exciting than the $200 check I’ll receive after the book is released. It’s going to feel surreal to see something I wrote in print! It’s not like the other pieces I’ve written over the years for small outfits. This is bigger.
The gravity of it all has been weighing on me for a little while now. I really don’t know what to expect. Knowing something I wrote will be potentially read by a few people makes me nervous. These books have an average circulation of 400,000. I don’t think I know more than 400 people.
Now, my friends all want to plan a release party. They want me to sign a copy. I feel like a deer in the headlights about to be hit by a tractor-trailer.
Excuse me while I find a place to hide.
